How it all started
Our story goes back over 50+ years ago, Founded by nagalingam Rathinam , Rio Ice Cream began as a small scale factory in the heart of Jaffna and sold across Jaffna peninsula through vans, scooters and bicycles. With a passion for crafting exceptional ice cream, Rio quickly became a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike. Over the decades, Rio’s reputation for quality and innovation helped it grow into Sri Lanka’s largest and most cherished ice cream parlor brand. From that first scoop to the present day, Rio remains committed to bringing joy and sweetness to every corner of the island.
